Rep. Anthony Daniels

House Minority Leader Representative Anthony Daniels has represented House District 53 since 2014. Since February 22, 2017, he has also served as the chamber’s minority leader, leading the House Democratic Caucus. At 34, Daniels became both the youngest and first Black person to hold the position in modern state history. Representative Daniels serves on several House Committees such as Insurance, Rules and Internal Affairs. Representative Daniels holds BA and MA degrees from Alabama A&M University. Representative Daniels is also an author of the book “To Sweeten Alabama: A story of a young man defying the odds.”
